Michael Finney (Smiths, Ga.) won Junior Olympic gold, taking a 15-9 victory over Manuel Rojas (Dallas, Texas). The bout was close through the first two rounds with Rojas holding a one-point lead as the third stanza began. Yet Finney was on fire in the final two minutes, winning the round by an eight to one margin to win a 15-9 final decision and the lightweight championship. |
